Their Hands
Head canons for the Blooming Panic LI's hands!
Nightowl’s hands are on the smaller side, but they’re proportional with his body. They're on the more slender side, and he likes them that way as it makes them seem less small. He takes care of his nails beautifully, his black nail polish done perfectly when it's done. He occasionally takes off the nail polish to clear his nails better, revealing they're naturally slightly pointed despite their slightly shorter length. Owl would always be careful with his nails, knowing how easily they could scratch. He had multiple times where he would go to scratch his skin somewhere and end up with scratch marks that would last a week. He smiles when you ask if you can do his nail polish for him, placing his hand in yours, saying "You could've just asked if you wanted to hold my hand, cutie." You take your time, holding his hand to admire it, and he melts inside from how adoring you are. You eventually start painting his nails, picking your favorite color.
Quest's hands are large, and blocky. He doesn't like them very much because of his past, back when they used to cause harm or damage. He feels they aren't pretty, or ideal, or anything like that. He avoids looking at them for too long, for similarity to his face, they had scars. Some were thin and barely there, barely being able to tell there was a scar at all. Some were large and had sharp edges, the lighter skin of them showing off his past. He knew they were heavy, too, always being careful not to hold your hand too tightly or to keep the weight of his hand lighter on your head. When you take one of his hands while he was reading a book beside you on the couch, he gets nervous at seeing how you were studying them. Your fingers were tracing a couple of the scars, and it made his heart beat quick in anxiety, before you leaned down and started pressing your lips to each of his knuckles. His heart is still beating quickly now, but now in a feeling of being loved.
Toast's hands are very big, he feels they're too big, but tries not to let that get to him since it allows him to type and code a tad bit better. Their hands are on the boney side, their knuckles jutting ever so slightly on their fingers, just barely noticeable. He would noticed whenever he had been typing that he might be typing really harshly, as his finger tips would be a bit more red than usual, or that his hands would start cramping. They would take pauses in between, eventually pick up their glass – or more likely, a can of an energy drink – and take a drink, making the glass look tiny in comparison. You once came in on one of their breaks, wondering why they were just staring at the screen while shaking their hands. "Oh my hands cramp sometimes." You easily came over to his side, picking up one of his hands and gently starting to massage it. He protested at first, turning bright red, but then allowed you to do so.
If you asked Xyx what he thought about his hands, he would raise an eyebrow, answer with a confused "normal?" before realizing and teasing you for staring at his hands while he worked. He had to think about it deeper when you eventually left, glancing at his hands. He had a callus on the middle finger of his right hand, right where he would hold his pencils or pens too tightly, writing too strongly in his job. He also had a couple small scars here and there, from when he would go on his daring adventures and land oddly with his hands scraping on something. He sometimes wished he could get rid of the scars, get rid of the imperfections, but with time he has accepted they would forever be a part of him. He occasionally wore gloves, but they were mainly fingerless ones, allowing him to forget about most of the imperfections. The callus, he liked to think of it more as a… show of how hard he worked. When you came back to him in his home office, you didn't hesitate to pick up his hand and press a kiss to his palm, right over one of his biggest scars. He couldn't help but think in that moment maybe the imperfections weren't so bad.
